MAP Sensor filters help protect the MAP sensor from oil, residue and build up. During tuning it is crucial to have a correctly reading MAP sensor. If a sensor is reading incorrectly it can cause the incorrect fuelling and incorrect turbocharger operation.
During tuning it one of the first items we check is in good working condition. A factory plastic MAP sensor filter is prone to cracking and breaking over time causing false readings to the MAP sensor. When replacing we will always recommend a stainless steel upgraded filter to give increased longevity.
There are 2 types of MAP sensor filter we keep:
- Both barbs facing the same direction
- Barbs facing the opposite direction.
You can check your MAP sensor filter on top of or near your engine intake to confirm the correct variation.
